Nestled within the vibrant IPC Shopping Centre in Mutiara Damansara, Uncle Lim's Cafe emerges as a delightful haven for food lovers seeking an authentic taste of local Malaysian cuisine. The atmosphere strikes a friendly balance between casual dining and cozy café charm, making it an ideal spot for both quick lunches and leisurely meals with friends and family.

One dish that stands out on Uncle Lim’s menu is the Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken (RM17). This beloved Malaysian classic arrives with a generous helping of thick, luscious gravy that envelops tender pieces of chicken, accompanied by a hearty portion of sambal sotong that packs a spicy punch. Although some diners speculate the squid is lightly blanched, its vibrant sambal topping ensures a burst of flavor. As William Ng notes, while the dish resonates well with traditional flair, a bit of patience may be required in service delivery during peak hours.

For those with a penchant for soup, the Fish Porridge (RM13) offers a substantial portion, although some diners, like Sherman Chin, have remarked on its relative mildness in flavor. However, Chin expresses his newfound love for the Chicken Porridge, which has won him over with its enhanced taste and friendly service from the dedicated staff, who make dining here a uniquely personable experience.

When you visit, don't miss out on sampling the Ais Mata Kucing, a homemade drink sweetened with rock sugar, hailed by Andrea Ban for its delightful aftertaste. This refreshing beverage is an excellent complement to any meal, and you may find yourself ordering a few extra servings to take home!

As you indulge in the culinary offerings here, be sure to soak up the cafe's inviting ambiance characterized by vibrant decor and a welcoming atmosphere. Your taste buds are in for a treat when you dine at Uncle Lim's Café, where flavorful dishes and warm service come together to create memorable dining experiences.

Nasi lemak with Rendang chicken (RM17) came with a generous amount of thick gravy. Big portion of sambal sotong too. But I suspect that squid is just blanched and topped with the sambal. Both were quite spicy. Overall a nasi lemak with standard. Enjoyed the kopi too. Understaffed though. Took ages for them to get my order.

Nice place to eat. The food is tasty. We shared th3 assuming laksa. They also sold their home made air mata kuching. Which was sweeten with rock sugar. The after taste was v nice. We drank one there and ordered another 2 for home. I would certainly recommend this place for a meal.

Big portion fish porridge at RM13 without service tax but not as tasty and quite little fish. Still worth it if you are hungry. Foreign staff were friendly. Update: Chicken porridge is so much better so upgrading to 5 stars! Foreign staff remember me and are super courteous too!
